Summer-to-Fall Nails

So it may be time to start caring about my nails again, I decided. I cannot remember the last time I painted my nails. Remember that one time when I had a WHOLE BLOG about nail trends? Maybe you don’t. But I did. So funny to think about now.

I’m usually a stickler about what nail polish I can wear in what season. You will soon learn that I pretty much love control, routines, and structure in my life…I’m not quite ready for fall but feel weird putting on a bright nail color at this stage in the game. I loved the look of white nail polish this summer and never got around to trying it, so when I got my ONE manicure of the summer recently, I tried to find a color that mimicked the white, yet wasn’t so stark.

Pre-manicure, I went straight for the Essie section at Target. I don’t mess around anymore in that regard. Sometimes I have fears about going to the nail salon and not finding a shade I like. Fear may be a strong word, but if you’re paying the money for the nails to get done, you want a color you love.

I picked up Essie’s Marshmallow and Urban Jungle. I loved both, but the Marshmallow is a muted white tone, exactly what I was looking for.

Look at me! My nails are done (rare occasion these days)… But now that my little girl is getting out of that “super newborn” stage, I’m going to try to find the time for nail upkeep.

Essie colors just stay for me. And I’ve really tried the cheaper brands and more expensive brands like OPI. Essie never disappoints. My pedicure with an Essie color literally stays for a month. Marshmallow is a great color that, to me, will work in all seasons: This color will definitely be on repeat. And Essie bottles will set you back between $8 and $9, but if you’re getting colors like these you can wear year-round, I don’t think that money is wasted.
