When the weather turns cold, I resist wearing a coat for as long as I can since I know I will be wearing a coat until like April. This cozy sweater is perfect for keeping warm when the temperature starts to dip a bit. I paired it with my boyfriend jeans and favorite ankle boots (with cozy socks) for a comfy, put-together (but simple) look when I got my hair done last Saturday. Of course you want to be comfy when you’re sitting in a chair for hours, but you also want to look like yourself (somewhat put-together) so you get a realistic sense of what your hair looks like with the coloring of your make-up and a typical outfit of yours.
A quick few notes on these jeans: 1. Visual interest. I like boyfriend jeans (jeans that have a baggier fit) that have some visual interest. In my case, it’s the “destroyed” factor. I also cuffed mine to give them a bit more structure and to accommodate my ankle boots. 2. Size up. These are actual “boyfriend” fit jeans, but I still sized up one size to get a baggier feel. With my boyfriend jeans, I like to look purposefully slouchy but not sloppy, if that makes sense.
I have also worn this sweater with my favorite American Eagle jeggings (which were featured in Monday’s casual mom uniform post). I have also ventured out of my comfort zone with cozy socks.
I love fuzzy socks for lounging (just like my mom). But I’ve never worn thick, “comfy” socks outside of my shoes/boots, if that makes any sense at all. I’ve seen a ton of pictures of boot socks on Pinterest, so I found a way to make the boot socks trend work for my favorite ankle boots (Remember when we talked about taupe ankle boots?).
