I am really digging the versatility of a pair of boyfriend jeans, especially a pair that can be cuffed. What’s trendy right now is to dress them up with a pair of heels.

I saw these recent pictures of Jessica Simpson and figured I would try out her outfit and convert it into formula for all of us: blazer + basic tee/tank + statement necklace + boyfriend jeans + heels.
Here’s what I came up with straight from my closet (no new purchases for this outfit…I owned all of these pieces already, so outfit details may not be super helpful…). And I can’t do those crazy high heels…mine are a little more practical.

I went with gray and cognac brown instead of Jessica’s black because I wanted a spring vibe to my look. If you read THIS POST, you know one of my favorite color pairings ever is gray and gold, so I instantly knew I was going for gold in my jewelry choices.
Also, to me, cognac brown is a year-round neutral that can work with any other color. When paired with a gray blazer and a light-to-medium-wash jean, it leans toward spring and summer.
The cropped jeans featured in this post are actually two sizes larger than the jean size I’m wearing now. If you’re shopping for boyfriend jeans on a budget especially, I suggest going up at least one size due to potential shrinking and for that extra added bagginess to achieve that cool girl vibe.
