Twirl Trunk 3 and a Reader GIVEAWAY!

Today I am excited to share the contents of my third Twirl Trunk and extend an opportunity for you, my favorite blog readers, to win a $50 gift card to Twirl Boutique in Cedar Falls! Let’s get this party started!

As you faithful readers know, I started to receive Twirl Trunks once a month starting in September. This Twirl Trunk service is very similar to Stitch Fix in that you fill out a profile explaining your style likes and dislikes and your wardrobe wants and needs. Then for a small styling fee ($20), the ladies at Twirl put together a trunk of five pieces, customized just for you!

Here we are in November… and here are my “yes” pieces.

PLUM FLOWY TUNIC TOP (size small) – $35

Now purple/plum, in all disclosure, is not a color I generally gravitate toward. But it pairs so nicely with all of my faves (black, gray, army green) that I decided to keep the top! I loved this selection. Also, the fact that the top is fitted in the arms and flowy in the tummy area is pretty much a bonus for every woman ever. May or may not wear this top on Thanksgiving Day. . . (room for carbs. . .)

BLACK TIE DYE CARDIGAN (size small) – $46
Love this cardigan and the fun, hippie print. It’s light enough to wear to work, where my classroom gets fairly warm each day. The length of the cardigan lends itself to wear with leggings (no “leggings as pants” disasters). And black and gray . . . duh. Sold.

Blanket scarf – $20

I began a love affair with blanket scarves last winter and wanted to add another (or two) to my closet. Love that this one has navy in it, too, to force me to not wear black for a day or two here and there.

And here we have the “no’s.”

BLUE PLAID KNIT DRESS (size small) – $42

I actually like this piece; the fit in the waist seems to be flattering. I have picked it up when I’ve been in Twirl a few times this fall. But since I am so tall, I could not wear it as a dress. I could definitely pair it with leggings and a black cardigan, but my general rule is to see if I can wear the piece at least two different ways with what I already have in my closet. I could only think of one way, so I sent it back. Shorter girls with smaller waists, this dress will flatter your figure!

Metallic poncho – $40

I love ivory. I love metallics. I get why this piece was chosen for me. And though I like to pretend to be super creative in my wardrobe, I am actually very traditional in the structure of my clothing. So I could not get on board with the poncho for me due to it being so asymmetrical. I think the poncho would be adorable with a fedora (as my friend/photographer Bobbie suggested), so anyone who gravitates toward the bohemian vibe would look great in this poncho!

So in all, I highly recommend the Twirl Trunk service. I loved getting the trunks and seeing what the ladies had selected for me. The process is very thorough, and the ladies at Twirl do a great job getting great pieces (that are budget-friendly) to their customers.
