That title is pretty intriguing, right?! Spoiler alert: I am actually pretty boring in real life. We are focusing on (mostly) shoes today!
I’ve been on the hunt for a few things lately, one for the past, oh…2 years! I have been looking for a black peep toe bootie/mule with a low heel. I don’t want them to look cheap, and I want something comfortable, something kind of like an updated version of my Steve Madden flatforms I wore at age 14 (which I hear are coming back anyway). I have decided the Old Navy ones I bought last year are not everyday shoes for me, which is a bummer.
Enter the Lucky Brand Organza.
I was actually shopping for my daughter’s birthday, and yeah. They found me! I usually don’t spend more than $50 on a pair of shoes, but these were EXACTLY what I wanted: dressy or casual, depending on what I choose to pair them with. So they were purchased!!
My little honey bun turned 3 a few weeks ago, and the first time I wore these shoes was at her Beauty and the Beast party. Landscaping at the Lindenmeyer house coming soon…yikes. Ha ha. So about that little honey bun…it’s like a switch was flipped when she turned three. OMG…she went from little sweet, innocent cuddler to Miss Independent, and if she can’t pick out her outfit, a fit will be thrown. Usually my outfit picks would get the seal of approval in the past, but dannnnnggggg. My, how things have changed. I have resorted to giving her multiple choices every day, and that has seemed to help. We both have strong opinions on our fashion choices, so the next 15 years or so should be quite the ride!
I told you I have been looking for two things…one is a pair of black mules. The other is a new job. My heart has told me for a good while that I need to return to my professional sweet spot, which has really always been teaching upper level high school English. One of my biggest professional goals is to teach college-level composition. Well, after some searching, I am SOOOOOO excited to say I landed a teaching position at St. Joseph-Ogden High School, and I will be teaching juniors and seniors. The seniors will be enrolled in a dual credit composition course I will teach. I will have to say goodbye to working with my dad, which will be hard. After being apart for the majority of two years while I lived in Iowa, I have really enjoyed working with Dad and seeing him every day, but I need to do what I am called to do. To be honest, I was not really stressed too much about finding the “perfect” job. I just prayed for the wisdom to know when the right opportunity came along and to be prepared for it. And I firmly believe it is this one. I am cutting 10 minutes off my commute, too, which is pretty sweet.
Speaking of teaching…a lot of my sweet blog readers found my LuLaRoe VIP Shopping Group, and I am excited to announce that I will be celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week over there. I will have giveaways and special surprises for teachers all week. My teacher friends are such an important part of my LuLaRoe business, and I want to treat you, so make sure you stop by this week! I heart you!
