Not-so earth shattering news: I LOVE ANKLE BOOTIES. I’ve actually been waiting for months to write this post. And since September is so close, I decided it’s time.
Let’s talk about what colors of ankle boots you should add to your closet to maximize your wardrobe. Why ankle boots? I find them to be extremely versatile…they can be worn with dresses, jeans, dress pants in a business casual setting…and the list goes on. Now styling them will be discussed in a future post, but for now, let’s just enjoy shopping for them, shall we?
*Everyone and her sister needs a pair of taupe booties. I would recommend starting here if you’re just now building your ankle bootie collection. Don’t be afraid to pair them with any color, including black.
*I actually own these! Check them out in the picture above.
*Gray is often forgotten about but shouldn’t be. It should actually be one of the first colors you invest in due to its amazing versatility. It is also a great alternative to black because it is not as harsh. Plus, it actually pairs well with black.
*My gray pick is pricier, but the quality is great. I actually ended up getting mine on CRAZY sale (over half off) at Macy’s, so keep watching for sales! Also available on Amazon for full price.
*I love this color for the colder months. It’s so rich and complements so many of our favorite fall colors: mustard, burnt orange, olive, mauve/dusty rose…and the list goes on. I even love pairing it with black.
*Loving the cute stitching/detailing on these!
*OK…you knew this color would be on my list. But I will say it’s tricky to pull off in ankle boot form. Some of the flat boots with a rounded toe actually end up breaking up your leg line and make your legs appear heavier than what they really are. My suggestions? If you can handle it, a wedge or a heel would solve this problem. Bonus points for a more pointed toe.
*Literally obsessed with these wedges and am strongly considering snatching them up myself!
*I know, I know…I said four colors. But olive could be another great option if you already have the colors mentioned above. Olive is a great fall-appropriate color that pairs nicely with so many other neutrals.
